Francis ("Frank") Lieto is a Member of the Firm and Chair of the Criminal Law and Family Law Groups.
Frank has earned a reputation as a skilled, versatile and determined legal mind committed to serving clients with those virtues he mastered as a collegiate athlete: preparation, intuition and commitment. He leads a diverse legal practice in addition to family and criminal defense litigation, that includes real estate law, foreclosure defense, loss mitigation, general commercial litigation. Frank’s comprehensive experience in prosecution, defense and transactional law, as well as his lifelong history of team-first commitments, ranging from collegiate football to civic activism, make him the prime choice for your legal guidance.
After spending the past twelve years serving clients as founding partner of the law firm of Lieto & Greenberg LLP, Frank committed to a strategic merger with Goldman Gruder and Woods that will undeniably strengthen and expand the legal services and offerings to clients of the Firm throughout Connecticut and New York. Frank’s team-oriented personnel has made him a natural fit to work on complex matters with the Firm’s other attorneys in order to best serve our clients’ needs.
Frank graduated from Western New England University, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Government where he served as Captain of the varsity football team and was selected to the National Political Science Honor Society. Thereafter, Frank earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Brooklyn Law School, cum laude, where he was the honorable recipient the Dean’s Scholarship Award, a Member of the Moot Court Honor Society and the Italian American Law Society.
Frank resides in Monroe with his wife Nicole and their three daughters. Frank is a devoted public servant, elected town official and public charity innovator. He is the Chairman of the Monroe Town Council and has held several other important civic appoints, including membership on the Town Council Legislative and Administrative Committee, the Monroe Parks and Recreation Commission and the Economic Development Commission. Frank further serves his community as Director of Softball and Vice-President of Monroe Little League and a youth softball coach.
Amongst all of his accomplishments, Frank is most fulfilled by his charitable endeavors. He serves as pro bono legal counsel to Habitat for Humanity and has provided similar pro bono assistance to many families in need of legal services. Most of all, Frank is proud to be the founding principal and President of Fighting Angels Foundation, Inc., a public charity dedicated to raise awareness and support of Angelman’s Syndrome, a rare neuro-genetic disorder.
A resident partner in the Firm’s Trumbull office, Frank also meets with clients at our Norwalk and Greenwich offices when requested.
