Attorney Phillip J. Cohn is a Member of the Firm and Chair of the Education Law Group. Attorney Cohn is admitted in both Connecticut and New York, and he has extensive legal experience in representing students with and without disabilities.

A team approach to education law and defending children’s rights.   1. Special education law disputes, including claims under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (“IDEA”).
  2. Education law disputes related to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (“504”) and the American with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) which requires accommodations for students with mental health issues, life threatening food allergies, diabetes, ADD-ADHD, narcolepsy, and other neurological and medical conditions.
  3. Education law disputes, involving harassment, intimidation, safety, and bullying concerns.
  4. Legal consulting regarding tuition reimbursement, i.e., factors and circumstances that may render out-of-district, unilateral placements (such as day schools and residential programs) appropriate under special education law.
